I will try to expose step by step, from 0 to 100, the way of mining without difficulties POLY in SUPRNOVA Pool using a NVIDIA GPU. For this tutorial i will use a software called Ccminer.

First of all, i advance that i am not a native English speaking guy, so i beg your pardon if the constructions of my sentences are a little bit weird. ;)

    1.- INSTALL POLYTIMOS WALLET

    Go to https://polytimos.net/

Then select the Windows wallet link (if you use WIndows OS, of course)

    0_1512834077601_371b0ec2-d1fb-465c-bc61-e2104f361d96-image.png

Then click "Download" button and you will get an exe file.

    0_1512834342240_a92e3be4-34c0-4a2e-80f6-a052fcb4e0c4-image.png

Copy de file whenever you want. I advise to create a folder with the name Polytimos and put inside of it everything related to this coin: wallet exe, mining softwares, etc.

    0_1512834520815_d4cddbdb-7d67-4eb9-a18d-4559ce027948-image.png

Run the exe file and you will open the Wallet. At first, there is only one wallet address and the wallet will be out of sync. Wait til the wallet is synced with the net.

Go to "Receive" section and you will see there your receive address.

You can create as many addresses as you want. Each one can be renamed to what you want. In my case, i have created one for each Pool i am registered.

    2.- GET CCMINER

There are a lot of Ccminer versions. Each one is focused in a different algorythm. Some versions supports several algorythms.

The version that i think is more optimized for NVIDIA gpus is Polytimos Miner V2. You can find it in the following link:

    https://github.com/punxsutawneyphil/ccminer/releases/

    0_1512836100810_8276b495-1c52-4e0f-a409-146d57022158-image.png

Once the zip file is downloaded, unzip it to the folder that you want. I advise to unzip it to the same folder where you have the desktop wallet. I usually create a different folder for each miner softwares i download.

    3.- CONFIGURING CCMINER
Now that you have the exe in the folder, you will need to create a .bat file that will send the configuration and the commands to the ccminer.exe file.

I recommend to create a different .bat file for each Pool you are registered.

Create a new text file inside the folder. Don´t rename yet to .bat extension. Leave it as an .txt file. For creating a new text file, make "right-click" with the mouse over the window of your folder and in the menu that appears, click New and then click Text Document.

    4.- CONFIGURING SUPRNOVA Pool

Now it is the time of selecting the Pool where you want to mine POLYTIMOS.

I will use Suprnova pool. It is where i get the higher number of coins per day at the moment. And it also gives you a lot of information.

    https://poly.suprnova.cc/

    0_1512837009361_178e4885-3330-4022-8fe2-fd47bafd1bbf-image.png

If you are not already registered there, you will need to Sign Up.

    0_1512837112535_05e91a46-337c-4ede-933b-f56d93dbd239-image.png

    0_1512837159768_1d68fcdd-2499-451a-8167-6127954d1423-image.png

Once you are registered, you will need to create a worker for the pool and a password for it.

Go to the left menu "My Account", then go to "My Workers".

    0_1512837259397_36f9c05f-2670-4024-b785-f1c256f80b13-image.png

Create a Worker Name and give it a password. Don´t confuse Worker Name with your pool username.

    0_1512837384024_49b471de-e373-45c0-adce-18a575a09186-image.png

The last step is to create the .bat file.

    Type in the following text:

    ccminer -a poly -o stratum+tcp://poly.suprnova.cc:7935 -u username.worker_name -p password
    pause

Replace username, worker_name and password words with your owns.

Save the text file, replace the file extension .txt to .bat and thats all.

    0_1512837855923_fd0a45d9-cd0d-460f-a228-7b1dfd8456b1-image.png

Now double click in your .bat file and a new window will appear with the info about your mining.

I show what i got. I am mining with a 1080 Ti and a 1050 Ti graphics card.

    Hi, all.

Following the tutorial that i have previously made in this forum and taking the idea of @thesudio, I have created a channel in Youtube dedicated to Polytimos coin but in spanish language.

It is my first video made in Youtube and my equipment is not very good. I have to buy a better mic: a lot of backgorund noise is heard in the video. I accept advise to improve my videos. I have recorded the screen using the Xbox Windows 10 tool for recording games. ;)

The link for the channel is the following: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdgzb8FYL6fyFxyxUYNT5OQ

I think we need to make a team for knowing each other when we publish something related to Polytimos in social media so we can comment them in our respectively Youtube/Twitter channels. :)

@ein3 said in How to mine POLYTIMOS in a Pool using Nvidia GPU:

i went through your entire tutorial and it fails to start the cmd prompt entirely it opens then closes instantly any ideas?

I have updated the commands to add a "pause" in a new line. This way, if something fails, the command window will not close and you will see what is happening.

@prospector47 said in How to mine POLYTIMOS in a Pool using Nvidia GPU:

@calmadigital Can you tell me if mining with AMD cards is profitable? Are you Brazilian?

I am from Spain, but i understand portuguese. I am married with a brazilian woman.

I don´t know about mining with AMD. I only use Nvidia. But right now, being Polytimos a coin not present in any Exchange site, it has not official value, so thinking if it is profitable or not does not make too much sense at the moment.

But i trust in this coin and project. Whatever quantity of coins you get mining now, will have a value in the future for sure.

It sounds very promising and interesting. It is a very good approach for making people feel part of the coin environment and not only a mere person buying and selling coins.

@mikev said in I have tried everything to solo mine:

    @simon
I have a nVidia GTX 1060ti overclocked and so far I've found that CCMiner has out performed every other mining program I've tried out there including the ones you mentioned. That being said I am not opposed to using one of the other miners just am wondering that if I'm not using a program that gets the most bang for my buck am I just spinning my wheels trying to solo mine?

    Polytimos address: PFmW4TjGeoNmFbYnzxsdtbmuPvzaoLQms5

CCminer 2.2.3 is not the fastest one. There are other version of CCminer. Please, go to my post about mining POLY and you will see that the Ccminer version is different than you use.

It has not been updated since 2011, but the e-mail associated to it it is my main e-mail.

I pretend to resurrect in the near future and update its design. The actual design was made by me.

I am thinking of an idea.

I was thinking in facilitating the use of POLY coin as a method of payment in ecommerce sites or web pages. Only to see the logo of "POLY Accepted here" in the shopping cart make the people curious of what is that POLY thing about and they end reaching us.

I know that there are online services as https://www.coinpayments.net but our coin must be listed there in order to be selectable.
