@paololuk said in LOOKING FOR WAYS TO NATURALLY PROMOTE POLY AND ITS SERVICES:
In my opinion the fist step to make is to improve the website of polytimos. Perhaps the drafting of a white paper would help the diffusion of the coin. Also the official presentation of the team. The masternode service must be expanded, advertised and disseminated on the various channels available. The presence on social media, besides discord, must be greatly pursued. We have virtually no presence on twitter, facebook, google plus, vkontakt. The announcement on bitcointalk must be followed and checked by official moderators.
I'm possibly interested in putting some of my time at the disposal of the community to achieve some of these goals.
Thanks for the attention.
Not sure what the website needs but happy to add whatever. A white paper doesn't really mean much in my own opinion, as most of the new projects out there are putting together a 'marketing paper' and calling it a white paper. I don't see the point, does anyone actually READ them? It doesn't seem like it to me.
There will be no 'official presentation of the team' because the whole focus of the project is to get the community involved. The team will do what we feel will help the coin, but eventually we would like the project to live on without a team at all. That isn't to say we won't still help out and do various projects, etc... however, the whole point of open source projects is to allow community involvement in the 'core'. Most projects are basically just centralized projects built on a decentralized network. That is stupid. Bitcoin had devs join from all over, had multiple communites formed, etc... This is what we're going for, we are not going for a company run project that masks itself decentralized.
If it isn't clear already, the team has extensive experience in crypto and a few of the people are easily found out. Just takes a little searching.
As far as the MasterNode service, yes, we are actively working on that, as it is our main focus at the moment. It will be dramatically improved and made quite easy to use. There will be more detail about it put up as well, and @thesudio has assisted quite well in creation of videos that do part of the explanation. But yes, I agree here.
If you're interested in assisting in any aspect, please just do it! Then come to me and I'll reward you for it. The social media presence is not up to the team to maintain, but instead, I would prefer there to be many outlets that are community run and created, that help get the word out. Instead of 'official' channels, which is centralized again.
We must begin to start thinking in a REAL decentralized way. To have anything 'official' or anything that if it goes away, there is a problem for the project, this is centralized. Removing that from the scenario is the ultimate solution.
I would prefer multiple small communities focused on assisting POLY as opposed to one large one run by a few people that could easily disappear. This lends itself to being much more strong and stable, many more people involved from many more places, and more people feeling 'at home'.
The team runs this forum, and the polyshield service which is continually being improved, we have added the team that runs https://cryptopool.party who love community projects like this, and they are helping quite a lot as well.
Overall, we're not looking to become huge fast, just to grow strong and steady and naturally, with many points that are all assisting in the greater goals.
